We believe that supports should empower people with disabilities to become participating members of their community. We believe that supports should encourage people with disabilities to make choices about their lives and their futures. We believe that supports should assist people with disabilities in achieving a quality life. UCP DAY SERVICES is a community based program supporting individuals with mental retardation and other disabilities in Shelby and Fayette Counties. UCP DAY SERVICES strives to support people in making choices, leading meaningful lives, and becoming participating members of their communities. UCP DAY SERVICES is a division of United Cerebral Palsy of the Mid-South, a non-profit organization that has served the Mid-South for over twenty-five years. UCP DAY SERVICES is the choice for families and clients who share our vision for life without limits for people with disabilities.
Facility Based Services
UCP’s Facility Based
Services provide supports that empower individuals to acquire,
retain or improve necessary skills to become more independent
and integrated into their communities.
Activities focus on vocational and life skills specific to the
needs of each individual.
Community Based Services
UCP’s Community Based
Services supports adults and children by providing activities in
the community for educational and social purposes. We provide
clients with opportunities to participate in typical activities
of community life. These include companionship with peers,
community/career exploration, hobbies, spectator sports and
entertainment.
Employment Support
Through employment
supports, adults are assisted in finding a job that is a fit for
their skills, interests and abilities. Intensive ongoing support
is provided to allow clients to succeed in a work setting. We
coordinate the support, supervision and training that will allow
the client to sustain meaningful employment in a position he or
she enjoys.
Personal Assistance
The UCP Personal
Assistance Program provides support to adults and children in
their homes and, at times, in their communities. Personal
Assistants assist clients in meeting their specific health and
social needs. Direct assistance is provided in activities of

living, i.e., bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, meal preparation and other activities essential to the health and safety of the individual. UCP is a licensed
contracted Provider of the Department of Mental Retardation
